FAQ

  • Licensing & Usage

All Stella Luna & Co. digital assets are licensed for commercial use under your brand.
Redistribution or resale of the base patterns is not permitted.

  • File Compatibility

All DXF/AAMA files are tested for import into major CAD systems.
If your manufacturer requires a specific format, we can export it for you.

  • What format do your digital patterns come in?

All patterns are delivered as production-ready digital files in PDF and DXF/AAMA format.
PDF versions are layered and nested for printing or review; DXF/AAMA files are fully compatible with CAD systems like TUKAcad, Optitex, and Gerber.

  • Do I need special software to use the patterns?

PDFs can be opened and printed on any computer.
For factory integration, DXF/AAMA files can be imported into most CAD software.
If you’re unsure which format fits your workflow, we’ll guide you based on your sampling setup.

  • Are your patterns true to standard fit blocks?

Yes. All patterns are drafted using industry-standard size blocks and graded across a full range.
We align with U.S. contemporary sizing.

  • Can I customize the patterns?

Yes. All blocks are designed to be modified to your brand’s specs.
We offer pattern alterations, grading, and fit adjustments as part of our consulting services.

    [Consulting Services]

  • Do I need a consultation before starting production?

Yes — we require a brief consultation to confirm your files are factory-ready.
This step prevents costly revisions later. Consultation fees are credited toward your first order.

  • How do I know if my designs are ready for production?

If you already have a tech pack, graded pattern, and sourced fabric — you’re ready.
If not, we can help prepare these assets for you to ensure a smooth handoff to manufacturing.

  • How much does consulting cost?

Consulting is quoted per project or hourly depending on complexity.
Most design development projects start at $85/hr or $300–$500 per style, including tech pack creation and fit coordination.

  • Can you help me if I’m just starting my brand?

Absolutely. We specialize in helping first-time designers build a professional foundation — from concept development to your first production run.

  • What’s the difference between pattern development and production management?New List Item

Pattern development covers design, fit, and technical documentation.
Production management handles factory sourcing, communication, and quality control once your styles are ready for bulk.

  • What’s the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Custom manufacturing starts at 100 units per style per color, with flexibility to split across sizes.
This helps small brands scale sustainably.

  • What type of consulting services do you offer?

We support designers through every phase — pattern development, tech packs, sourcing, sample coordination, and overseas production management.

    [Contact Us]

  • Do you manage production directly?

Yes. We work with vetted overseas factories to oversee the full cycle — development, sampling, and bulk production — ensuring quality and consistency.

  • How does your overseas production process work?

We coordinate directly with vetted manufacturing partners.
Once your tech pack and patterns are approved, we manage sampling, pre-production, bulk, and quality checkpoints, ensuring the same communication standard as a local studio.

  • Can you handle shipping and logistics?

Yes. We coordinate freight forwarding, customs clearance, and delivery, so your finished goods arrive safely and on schedule. We do not offer drop shipping to your customers.

  • Can I use your files with my own factory or pattern maker?

Yes. All Stella Luna & Co. digital files are manufacturer-ready and transferable to your vendor.

  • Do you sign NDAs or confidentiality agreements?

Yes. We understand how valuable your IP is.
All custom development projects are protected by our standard confidentiality agreement, and NDAs can be signed upon request.
